The weather has cooled down just a bit. Winds from the North West. I was able to get out just past 8:30 AM. The legs were a bit heavy to start. They felt better after making it to the top of the descent. I made it there in good average time. I cruised the downhill and put two digs on the risers. I reached the base in about 39-ish minutes. So, good average. From there, I headed back up the mountain. My patience was in check for the most part. The landmarks went by quick. After about halfway up the mountain, I was experiencing sharp pains in my right hip. It felt like I was pinching a nerve. I let up a bit. I alternated left and right leg efforts. I changed my cadence and alternated in and out of the saddle. It persisted between 5 to 10 minutes before the pain went away. I’m not sure what to make of it other than it could be related to the saddle position. I might try tilting the saddle down just a fraction and see if that helps. Aside from that, the morale felt much better when the pain subsided. After making it to the summit, I let up to recover. I headed back home from there. I pushed to the top of Weston and then shut it down.
Concentration was good. Minimal lapses. Only hints of gremlins. Balance and form was good. Nutrition was good. No hunger signs. I went through about 3/4ths of my sport drink. Gear worked flawlessly. Ailments were the worst of things. A nerve in the right hip got sore and took a while to subside. But, it did get better. Tilting the saddle down by just a fraction may help. Other notes, I saw one cyclist as I was making my way back.
