A miserable day for an out-door ride. Perfect day for an in-door ride. I had stuff to do, so I tried to hop on the trainer as soon as I could. Fortunately, the setup went fast. I love my new Dell laptop. It works great with Zwift at 4k. The ride went well. I'm at around 140lbs now. I updated the weight on Zwift before the start of the ride. I chose the mountain loop route, I think 19ish miles total. I ended up doing around 18. I took about 5 to 7 minutes to easy tempo warmup. Then I started to do the out of the saddle pushes and finally the slopes of the ascent. My approach was somewhat formulated. Instead of just burring my head to the floor, I did intervals. I would get out of the saddle for 2 or 3 minutes at around 3.5 to 4 Watts/kg. Then in the saddle for about 10 breaths at around 2 to 2.5 Watts/kg. I did this all the way to the summit. I had some reserves remaining by that time. I did a 30 day PR, always great. I then made my way up to the ski summit. Pretty much same approach, but maybe a bit more out of the saddle on the steeper slopes. I was sweating profusely at this point. So, I was having to sit and wipe for a few moments. I probably could have done the ski summit out of the saddle if it weren't for the need to wipe the sweat off my head. Nevertheless, I great workout. After that I descended and rode till I reached 1 hour of riding. After that, was about 7 minutes of easy peddling/warm down. I was tempted to continue the entire loop. I think I was about 1 mile away from the finish. I think I'll make that a goal for the next ride on this route. Concentration was real good. I'm really liking Zwift. Balance and form felt good. Ailments consisted of some mild right knee soreness and lower quad soreness. Nothing to detract from my effort. Gear worked flawless today. Other notes, over 2200 riders today.
