The weather is on the cold side. I got out a bit later than usual. It allowed me to sleep more and let the weather warm up. I wore arms, knees, head cap and I brought a sheet of newspaper just in case I needed more insulation (turns out that I didn’t). I made it to the summit of OTR in average time. The descent was enjoyable. I made my way to the top of the Keene descent. I made it there in about 49 minutes. I cruised the downhill. I put in two digs on the risers. There was some traffic mitigation, so I pulled over to let cars go by. I stopped once near the base of to swap out the GoPro battery and to take a quick bio. From there, I made my way to the base. Shortly after, I headed back up the mountain. I stopped at the Chavez center entrance to mix a sport drink. I got back on the road and finished the remainder of the climb. The legs felt pretty good. The landmarks went quick. I had stuff to think about and my patience was in check. The body felt good for the majority of the climb. My right knee was hinting on soreness nearing the last couple miles to the summit. I adjusted my cadence with in and out of the saddle efforts. It eventually subsided. After making it to the summit, I took a few moments to recover while on the bike and then headed back home. I shut it down after the push to the top of Weston.
Concentration was good. Minimal lapses. Patience was mostly in check, although it took about 20 minutes or so for it to settle in. There were only hints of gremlins, otherwise moot. Balance and form was good. Ailments, some hand soreness and right knee about a couple miles from the summit of Keene. I raised my saddle height by about a ¼ inch. It feels better. Gear worked flawlessly. Other notes, I saw one recumbent cyclist that I recognized.
