Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

Today was a cold one! In the low 40's, cloudy and winds from the North West. I was thinking about going to WS, but I didn't like the idea of riding into a cold biting headwind. So, I decided to go to the Alpine Forest instead. I wore nearly everything I could to keep warm. Jacket and all. I also wore the aeroshell for the helmet. Seems to be working like a charm. It took a while to get warmed up. Say, by the end of OTR. There's just so much more friction when wearing this much gear. Somewhat detracting from the efficiency. I felt reasonably good on the climbs. Nothing special. Just ticking over the landmarks as usual. My hands were getting a bit cold as I was making my way around the Alpine Forest. I was keeping track of time. Just trying to make estimations to certain landmarks. I was fairly accurate in my judgement. I ended up riding to the summit of Banducci, after exiting the Alpine Forest. I took a few moments rest. Hydrated and then headed back down the mountain. It got cold. The sun was behind the clouds. By the time I reached OTR, I had cooled down quite a bit. I was having #1 calls from the body. So, I had some incentive to get back ASAP. I kept the tempo moderate and remained relaxed. After making it over Mariposa, it was fun and games. Concentration was good. Hints of gremlins out there, nothing detracting, though. Balance and form felt good. The extra clothing posed just a bit of a challenge. Ailments, next to none, other than being cold in the hands and feet. Gear worked like a charm. I did notice the GoPro stopped after I got to the mailbox. So, about 1:10-ish hours. I'm guessing the cold limited the battery life. It happened on recent rides as well. Will have to keep an eye on it. Other notes, no cyclists today.
