The forecasted rain didn't eventuate and even better the wind changed direction so a good mornings ride again through flat country on good quiet roads had well over half the distance done by midday.
Decided to head along the coast and enter Venezia via a ferry from Punta Sabbioni...good plan until I was told that bikes are forbidden in the city and I couldn't go on that ferry...so had to take another then another to enter from the land ward side where you can store/park your bike in big lockers..all sorted eventually..super lucky to have missed a massive cloud bursts and the excellent concierge didn't mind waiting for my late check-in.
The ferry ride gave a great perspective of the city from the water and then walking around inside it is extraordinary...very cool. Again too much to see in a short time so ...well...have to come back I guess !!
