Up early to have another quick look around then collect the bike and across the 4km bridge to the mainland. Venice really is something quite unique. Mainly back roads then a very good cycleway along floodbanks and then an old railroad route so altho it was a delayed start good km's achieved by the end of the day (with an interlude for a passing thunderstorm). Verona seemed like a ghost town when I arrived but by the time a meal of bigato and musso (donkey!!) with a glass of the local red was consumed the restaurants along the river banks were filling up and the city was alive.
