The weather is perfect. Below 60 and cool breeze from the North West. I chose the WS route today. Seemed an ideal recover ride. My side pains have nearly gone away. This was the first complete ride I was able to make since the pains have started about a week or two ago. The legs were average to start. Took a while to warm up. I was holding myself back. I also forgot to bring my HR strap. So, no HR metrics on this ride. It was kind of nice not to have that extra compression on the chest. Of all the rides, this would be the one to have forgotten it. The ride went fast. I was warmed up sufficiently by the time I reached the end of OTR. I made my way up Highline. Mostly out of the saddle in moderate tempo. No red-lining. The way out to WS was quick and enjoyable. I had a tailwind, at that point. At the turn-around point, I spared no time to rest, and headed back. I had a head-wind, but it wasn't too significant. I was keeping an eye on the landmarks. I was holding 13MPH+ most of the time. I was estimating my time to complete the riser just after Tucker. I was pretty much spot on. From there, it was mostly fun and games. Keeping my tempo no more than moderate. Concentration was good. It was one of the few times I was eager to get out to WS. I was keeping in mind what the TGF would be like if I had to go to Keene. The concentration was there. Ailments, almost none. Side pains are nearly gone. I still can't push 100%. Will likely take another two weeks. Balance and form feels good. Gear worked great. Other notes, I only saw one bicycle commuter today. And, no gliders in WS.
