The weather is good. In the low 80's, clear skies and winds from the North West. The legs felt good to start. No more soreness of the right knee. Although my left knee had a hint of soreness that got better as the ride progressed. I made my way through route OTR and was sufficiently warmed up by the time I reached the summit. The way out to WS was mostly moderate. No red-lining on the 1 mile climb. I was mostly in the saddle and practicing high cadence. I turned around and headed back when I reached WS. The wind was picking up. I was doing a 13MPH pace in the first 4 or 5 minutes. From there, I lifted the pace a bit. But, no red-lining. As I was making my way back, I ran over a patch of tarmac gravel. I reached for my squeegee tool to wipe it off, when my keys went flying out of my pocket. Suffice it to say, I had to stop and find it. It took about 3 minutes. I headed back from that point. When I reached Tucker, I estimated that it would take about 7 minutes to reach the summit. My estimation was spot on. I made my down and up to Banducci/Route 202. From there it was mostly fun and games. Concentration was good for the most part. Few lapses. No gremlins. The morale was good. Balance and form felt good. Ailments, some left knee soreness in the first half of the ride. Maybe some right hand numbness. Gear worked great, but the bike continues to exhibit noises. I serviced the bottom bracket yesterday and re-greased the threads. It made no difference. Other notes, I saw one other cyclist today. No gliders at WS.
