Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

I chose today for a double because the weather was ideal and the previous ride was a lesser of the three. I headed to Keene first, this time. I had to park at the local park because the folks aren't here to hand out provisions. I got out early, this time. I had breakfast and then got my gear together and headed out. So, the major difference on this ride was how my concentration was affected by the time differential. The legs felt above average to start. The weather was cool. In the 70's. Winds from the North West. I headed to the summit and then down to Keene. Mostly soft pedaling. Somewhat anticipation to get the climb started. I made it to the bottom and headed back. I let the legs settle in before getting my usual pace going. I'm wanting to say that I didn't hold back as much as I should have. But, I wasn't red-lining it on the steeper slopes. I tried to keep my mind occupied. Maintaining focus. It wasn't quite there at this point in the ride. I passed the major land-marks. Making sure I was hydrating and stretching when possible. Mostly on the two dips. The legs and body felt good. No ailments at this point. I made it to the summit. Feeling a bit of relief that the difficult part of the ride was behind me. I made my way down, back to the parking area. I swapped out bottles, hydrated and then headed back out. I wasn't too fixated on the time, as the start point was different. So, no apples to apples comparison. Given that I was sufficiently warmed up. I was able to settle into a tempo I could sustain. OTR felt pretty good. I wasn't having to red-line to keep my momentum going. I arrived at the top of OTR and somewhere around this time, I checked my GoPro. I noticed that the battery wasn't being charged. But it was at 90%. I can't remember if I did this on OTR or Banducci. After OTR, I headed up Banducci. The wall felt ok. I was in my lowest gear going over the top. Trying not to put it too much in the red. I recovered on the false flat and then the remainder of the climb. Mostly keeping good tempo and traffic mitigation. I made it to the summit. I pulled over and decided to eat a few bites of the Power Bar that I brought. I think this was the point where I checked the GoPro. The battery was full, but not charging. I headed downhill. Practicing my tuck. Then the trek through the farmlands going into the head-wind. I made it to the SS entrance and then took a few moments to stretch. I made my way around the back entrance. The legs continued to feel good. No ailments, other than some hand soreness. The downhill was fun. Doing my tuck. I cruised through SS and then back out. The morale was reasonably good at this point. The most difficult parts done. And, mostly tailwinds through CV. After reaching Pellisier, this was a landmark. I knew I would have a nice tailwind. I didn't check my time at SS tunnel, nor Boss Hogs. Probably should have. The trek went fast and the last climb was next. I was able to settle into a good tempo. The legs weren't too heavy, so concentration was easier on the mind. I made the summit. I don't think I pushed it too much. I recovered on the false flat and tried no handed feeding on the bike. Pretty much consumed the remainder of what I had left of the Power Bar. Probably could have done without it. But, no point in letting it go to waste. I made it to Route 202. It was mostly traffic mitigation. OTR was fun and games and I did a modest push over Mariposa. From there, it was back to the car. Concentration was reasonably good. Definitely different than my afternoon rides. Where I get plenty of sleep, but the air temperature is hotter. I think it got better as the ride progressed. There were times of slight lapses in focus, but nothing too detracting. Balance and form felt good. Ailments, right hand soreness. I scraped my right quad on a zip tie for my battery bank. I have a bandage on it now. Just a minor scrape. Gear worked flawless. That makes 2 for 2 on the GoPro battery + power bank. Other notes, I saw 2 other cyclists today.
