The weather is great. It’s in the mid 60’s. Winds from the North West. I wore arms, knees, thick base layer, and head cap. The legs felt ok to start. I made it to the summit of OTR in good average time. I was riding into a headwind. The Banducci Wall had traffic mitigation. I was near max going over the top. I recovered on the flats and made my way to the summit. After reaching the summit, I took a few moments to recover. I made it there in 42 minutes, so not very quick, but since I was going into a headwind its understandable. Then I headed down the mountain. I ended up pulling over once to let traffic by. After that, it was non-stop to the base. Making my way through the farmlands was quick since I had a nice tailwind most of the time. I forgot to check the time at Boss Hogs. I estimated that it was around 1:03 hours. So, I made up some time since reaching the Banducci Summit. I decided not to take a bio break. The last climb went as planned. I kept the tempo moderate doing in and out of the saddle efforts. After reaching the summit, I pulled over to feed and hydrate. I fed a Clif Bar. After that, I got back on the road. I let traffic by on Route 202 and made my way to OTR. The descent off OTR was relaxing. I pushed over Mariposa and then to the top of Weston where I shut it down.
Concentration was good. The morale felt pretty good. I had stuff to think about that needed sorting, so this was the perfect time to do it. Balance and form was good. Ailments were minimal. Mostly hand soreness and mild numbness. Nutrition was good. I fed a Clif Bar and most of my sport drink as well as some water. Gear worked flawlessly. Other notes, there were some rude commuters, being vocal and honking their horn unnecessarily. I saw one cyclist today.
