The weather is a bit cold and windy. Winds from the South East, somewhat turbulent and in the 50's. I wore the standard winter kit, with short gloves and no shoe covers. I felt comfortable. I was a bit sluggish to start, and the wind conditions didn't help. Today was a day for patience. I made it to the summit of OTR in good average time. The legs felt kind of heavy. The Banducci Wall had some traffic mitigation. I was near max going over the top, but I had matches to burn. The Alpine Forest climb was a bit more relaxing. The wind didn't help though. I was in my easiest gear most of the way up. I was within my limits at the top of Arosa. I zipped around the backside and then to Banducci. After making to the summit, I pulled over to recover. I let traffic by and headed down the mountain. I had a turbulent headwind, so I was extra cautious. Descending off the Banducci Wall was better than I anticipated with the turbulent cross winds. I was able to relax on the OTR descent. I pushed over Mariposa and then to the top of Weston where I shut it down.
Concentration was good. I was a bit impatient to start. No gremlins to mention. Balance and form was good. Ailments were minimal. My right hip is slightly sore. My hands were sore on a few occasions. Nutrition was good. I had a bowl of oatmeal and half a banana before departing. I didn't take a nap. Gear worked flawlessly. I have to torque some bolts like the water bottle holder. Perhaps the rear derailleur, too. Other notes, no cyclists today.
