A great spring day it was. Upper 50's and winds from the south. I wore 1 base layer, arms and knees. I removed the arms and knees before the majority of the climb. I felt good from the start. I stopped on a few occasions to take some phtoos. First at the pony farm, around the corner and then again while climbing Keene. The wind was a bit tricky today, It was mostly northerly, but turned south near the first 1/3 of the ascent. I cruised the downhill, kept my momentum and was mostly fun and games. The ascent was mostly moderate tempo. I was saving something for the parts of the climb that went into a headwind. I was constantly out of the saddle in order to maintain my momentum and to stretch the legs and body. My concentration was in the zone for the majority of the ride. Ailments consisted of upper knee soreness in the right leg. Very minor, and nothing to detract from my pace. Balance was very good. I felt square on the pedals. Gear is working well. Although, the GPS live tracking stopped as I was approaching the Keene basin. I restarted the app and it worked flawless from that point on. I forgot to wear my HR monitor, so no metrics there. Other notes, there were dozens of butterflies scattered about the mountain. Some even hitting me in the chest.
