Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.

Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

I wasn't so keen on going for a ride today. There was overcast when I got up, and later, when I was about to depart. I decided to stick with the plan and go to the Alpine Forest. I put the full winter gear and brought my face mask, that I didn't end up using. The legs felt average to start. It took a few miles to get the legs back into it. I was sufficiently warmed up by the end of OTR. There was a bit of traffic mitigation on the Banducci wall. I kept the tempo steady. No digs over the top. Making my way up to the Alpine Forest was more or less what I wanted to get out of it. No red-lining. I kept the tempo moderate, with no accelerations. The climb went quick. I made it to the top of Banducci and assessed my situation. Either turn around or go to CV. At this point, the sky had cleared up. So, I decided to head on down to CV. The wind was mild. Tough to say if it was in one direction. It felt like a headwind on the way down. Going through the farm lands felt like I had a somewhat turbulent wind condition. Mostly tail, but not entirely. Strange. I pulled over to swap camera batteries. From there, I headed to the last climb. Just doing simple numbers, in the meantime (to keep my mind occupied). The last climb felt good. I kept the same motto. Nice and steady, moderate tempo. No digs over the top. Teh false flat was a nice time to recover. I made it to Route 202, mostly traffic mitigation. From there, it was mostly fun and games. Concentration was good (considering I wasn't feeling 100% up to getting out for a ride today). Balance and form was good. Ailments, next to none. Gear worked great. The GoPro camera flew off the mount when I started making my way up OTR. I turned around, a car past by. I picked up the camera. It looked to be ok and was still rolling. The charity app is somewhat dodgy the past few rides. Not very reliable. I had to restart it at the top of Banducci. It showed only 4 miles of riding. Should have been more like 8 to 10. Other notes, a motorcyclist pulled up to me as I was at the end of OTR, when I was fiddling with my smart phone. He joked how cyclists (including himself) have to carry all the these electronics.
