The weather is great today. Feels like a cold spring morning. I decided to do the Tour de Teh (SS,R) ride. I wore the standard kit, arm and knee warmers. The legs felt good to start. I was counting off the roads as I was going along. I reached the end of OTR in good time. I was going into a headwind on the way up Banducci. So, I kept the tempo steady and tried not to burn too many matches. I reached the summit in about 38 minutes. A good average time. I headed downhill. Practicing my tuck. Somewhere on the base of the descent, the bolt on the GoPro mount flew off. As soon as I heard it bounce on the ground, I knew it un-did itself from the mount. I slowed down and did two passes on the road. I found it on the second pass. I ended up wasting about 2 minutes of time. Shortly after, I hopped back on the road and made my way to SS. Getting there was mostly into the headwind. Doing about 15 MPH, or so. I made it to the backside and descended into town. I tried to keep focus on the segments and not so much getting to the finish. Definitely helped. The return trip from SS went reasonably quick. Mostly a tail or tail-cross wind. I was listening to my music and thinking about where I would be at the end of the song. It helped the miles go by. The last climb felt good. Doing no less than moderate tempo. I kept the momentum going over the top. The false flat was a nice recovery period, with a tailwind. Route 202 was safe, today. Minimal traffic. Descending OTR was fun and games. The last push over Mariposa came and went. From there, it was just getting home. Concentration was good. Few lapses. No gremlins today. Ailments, next to none. Balance and form was good. Gear worked flawless, other than the mounting bolt on the GoPro dis-lodging. Other notes, no other cyclists today.
