Today is day light savings. I got up late from my nap. I wasn’t sure what I was going to do. I got up, looked out the window, then decided it would be a shame to let a nice day like today to go by. I got my gear ready and decided to go to the Alpine Forest. I wore the standard winter kit. Thick base layer, arms, knees. I decided to leave my headcap behind, and I would regret that decision as the ride progressed. The weather is in the low 50’s, winds from the South East. The wind was turbulent today. The legs felt good to start. I made it to the end of OTR in good time. Banducci went well, as did the climb up the Alpine Forest. The wind was on my back up till this point. The air dense with cold air. It felt great. Before I knew it, I made it to the top of Alps. I made my way around the backside. At this time, I was trying to remember if I brought my extra battery. I was certain that I forgot it. But, tried to keep from getting too distracted. I made my way to the top of Banducci and took a few moments rest. I checked the saddle bag and noticed that the spare battery was in there. My morale lifted, because from there, I knew I would be able to record the video for the remainder of the ride. At this time, I noticed that the wind had done a 180. I would now have a headwind on the way down and out to CV. Mostly fun and games on the downhill. Riding through CV went quick. I made it to the base of the last climb. Spared no time and made my way up. Mostly moderate or better tempo. Out of the saddle most of the time. In the saddle to recover and hydrate. I put in an effort over the summit. The wind continued to go in my favor. I recovered on the false flat. Route 202 was mostly traffic mitigation. OTR was fun and games. Then Mariposa, the usual dig up the hill and back home. Concentration was good. I had a few things to think about and the good weather helped. Ailments, some mild knee soreness from time to time. No real issues there. Balance and form felt good. Gear worked flawless. I just got my front wheel adjusted since the recent repair. The axel was bit loose. I brought it to the local bike shop, and they fixed it on the spot. Other notes, I saw 3 cyclists today.
