Perfect Spring day, for a bike ride! In the low 60's, Winds from the north west. I went to SS. The legs felt good to start. The morale was feeling good too. I made it to the summit of OTR in good time. I made my way up Banducci. Some traffic mitigation. I made it to the summit in good time. Under 38 minutes. I took a few moments rest, and then headed downhill. The descent was a treat. I practiced my tuck. Towards the bottom, I stayed in my tuck, going around the last downhill bend. The way out to SS was more or less what I expected. Into a headwind, grinding it out. I tried to stay below high tempo. But, I was pushing a bit in some areas. I made may way around the backside of SS. The downhill was enjoyable. I forgot to check my time, going through the tunnel. I zipped through SS and headed back on Banducci. Love the bike lane. So much better, now. The flat lands went quick. I had either a tail cross, or mostly tail wind. I checked my time at Boss Hogs. It was 1:20 hrs. I was on good time, so I decided to push it a bit. The last climb was mostly high tempo. I pushed it over the top, at maximum. The false flat was mostly recovery, but I kept the tempo going. Route 202 was some traffic mitigation. From there it was mostly fun and games. But, I tried to keep the high tempo going, as I was on good time. I made it home in under 1:50 hours. PB for the season. Concentration was real good. I had a few things to think about, and the morale was good to start. I felt like doing this ride, since yesterday. Balance and form was good. Ailments, none. Gear worked great. The rear derailleur is fixed. There was a loose spring, on the inside of the rear derailleur. I fixed it yesterday. Confirmed working, today. Nutrition was good. no hunger pains and I had about 3/4 of Gatorade and a few sips of water. Other notes, no other cyclists out there, today.
