I didn't feel like getting out today. The other day, I was thinking of going to SS. Instead, I decided to go to Keene. The weather was great. In the low 70's. Winds from the North West. The body felt good from the start. I forgot to check my time at the summit of the descent. I believe it was in good time. I cruised the downhill. Soft pedaling most of the way. Putting in two digs over the risers. The second was a bit botched from mis-shifting. I made it to the base in about 27 minutes. I headed back, no hesitation. The patience was pretty good today. I didn't have a sense of ugency, in the negative matter. The landmarks went by very quick. I had a few things to think about. The music player kept me company. I was practicing the Fidlock bottles. I had to pull over when I reached the first dip in the climb. I dropped the chain off the big ring, then it got stuck on the inside of the cassette. I slammed on the brakes to keep the chain from mangling the spokes on the rear wheel. It took about 3 minutes to get it back on. I got my hands dirty, but was able to clean them off, with the spare paper towel that I brought. From there, it was non-stop. I was holding good tempo for most of the climb. No digs over the top, but I kept the momentum going. Concentration was good. Ailments... I had some mild GI soreness. I'm not sure what to make of it. It was mostly on the left side. No stomach pains. Fortunately, it did not escalate nor detract from my tempo. Balance and form was good. Gear worked great, aside from the chain throwing off. Nutrition was good. No hunger pains. I drank about 1/3 of my Accelerade and a bit of water. Other notes, no other cyclists. I saw many motor-cyclists. Some of which, were nice enough to wave.
Other notes. The GoPro turned off some time before the summit. I had to replace the battery as soon as I noticed. I'm guessing I lost about 5 to 10 minutes of footage.
