Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

I had troubles getting up earlier from my morning nap. The GI didn't agree. Fortunately, it came around and I was able to get out. It's getting warmer. In the upper 70's. Winds from the North West. Excellent day for a ride! The legs felt a bit heavy and sore to start. Later on, I would find that I was doing good time. Nothing new to mention, other than I brought my new smartphone with me. I took some internet speed readings at a few locations. So, I reached the end of OTR in good time. Unexpected. Then I went up Benducci. I made it to the summit in good time. So, at this point, I knew I was going to have a good day. I took an internet speed reading at the summit. It was actually worse than I anticipated. I took a look at my GoPro battery. It had about 35% charge remaining. Usually, it has about 50% or more. I kept that in mind. I did the numbers, and realized that I would have enough batteries to last the ride, with the spare that I had in my saddle bag. The downhill was fun. Doing my tuck and reaching over 40 MPH. The trek to SS was quick. There was a headwind, but it wasn't significant. When I reached the top of SS, on the backend, I took another internet speed reading. Less than I anticipated, once more. The downhill was fun. Approaching 40 MPH, in the tuck. I reached the Tunnel in about 58 minutes and change. At that point, I knew I was on par for a sub 1:50 hour ride. From there, I switched screens on my Garmin, so that I wouldn't get distracted from the elapsed time. In the meantime, I was using the virtual training partner on the GPS. I had it set to 15 MPH. I passed the partner around the time I went through SS. The trip back went quick. Listening to the music, trying to keep the momentum going. The last climb was a bit tough. The legs were a bit more fatigued. I was in and out of the saddle to keep the legs from getting too sore. I was at 100% over the top. Not digging, but just keeping the power down. From there, it was recovery and onto Route 202. Some traffic mitigation. Then OTR, and fun and games back to home. I checked my time when I reached the doorstep. Indeed, I put in a sub 1:50 hour ride! Concentration was good. Few lapses, the morale was good. I was assessing the situation for the next big ride, that will be Caliente, on the weekend. Fingers crossed. Looks like my body and mind are good to go. Balance and form felt good. Ailments, I had general quad soreness. Some nerve pain on the upper quad / hip area as I was making my way through the last 25 minutes or so. It went away. I was able to stretch and favor the opposite leg, to mitigate. Gear worked perfect. Nutrition was good. I had half my Accelerade and water. I had just enough in the tank before needing to feed. Other notes, no other cyclists today.
