I got up a bit earlier than the previous ride. I think I had breakfast around 6:30ish. The weather was fantastic. I really did beat the heat. The winds were calm and the air was cool and fresh. I felt pretty good from the start. It didn't take much time for me to get warmed up. I decided to do a 1.5 ride today. So, Banducci climb + Keene n Back. This was the first time I did Keene last (as far as I can remember) this year. Today was the first test for my body, to see how it would respond while doing the difficult part last. I felt pretty good through out the ride. My saddle soreness is being mitigated and this lead to a more enjoyable ride. I had minimal ailments. My concentration was good for the most part, but I did get the case of the crazies on few occasions. Fortunately, I was able to real it in and maintain focus. Ailments consisted of right hand numbness, some mild soreness in the right knee, maybe a bit in the left as well. Slight saddle soreness, a hint of cramping in the left quad, and calf muscles. My left quad has been having spontaneous spasms. It manifested a few times during today's ride. Balance and form was good, not great. I was leaning on the false flat coming back on Banducci. Something about that road that challenges my balance. I've still yet to adjust my saddle. I have to find a bubble level and just get it out of the way. Gear is working great, no problems there. I will get my tail light tomorrow. Other notes, I saw 2 other cyclists today. Seems like most people get out earlier in the day.
