It's cooler today. Favorable winds. The legs felt average to start. I bumped the shin on my right leg, yesterday. It left a small bruise. I was wondering how it would affect today's ride. Turns out that it didn't I made my way up OTR. I made it to the summit in average time. I knew I wasn't going to post a good time today, so no worries with heroics. Banducci was manageable. I wasn't in the red-zone, on the wall or the remainder. When I reached the summit, I took a few moments respite. I let traffic by, then headed downhill. I practiced my tuck. Reaching 40 MPH. The way to SS was more or less what I expected. Going into a headwind. doing between 15 and 18 MPH, most of the way. I made my way around the backside. The downhill was fun. I forgot to check my time through the tunnel. It was definitely over 1 hour. Probably around 1:03-ish. I zipped through town and then headed back through the farm fields. I reached Boss Hogs in about 1:25-ish hours. Again, not on good time, so no worries with heroics. The last climb went quick. Before the climb, I pulled over to replace the GoPro battery. It was about 11% charge remaining. I made it over the summit, no pushes. I recovered on the false flat and onto Route 202. It was mostly traffic mitigation, then onto OTR. From there it was fun and games. Concentration was good. Balance and form felt good. I raised my saddle before the last climb. It felt better. Ailments, some hand numbness. Minor soreness in the knees. Gear worked flawless. Other notes, I saw one other cyclist at SS.
