I had to skip a ride for a medical procedure, yesterday. They predicted upper 80's. I got out around 11:45-ish. I wasn't sure how the temperature was going to be. It was warm, but not uncomfortable. I decided to head out to the Alpine Forest. The legs felt pretty good from the start. I made it to the end of OTR in good time. There was minimal traffic on the Banuducci wall. So, I was able to concentrate better. I was around 150 BMP over the top. The climb up Alpine Forest went well. I was concentrating on my form. It felt good. I made my way around the backend. Having fun on the dips. Reaching 40 MPH. I took a few moments rest at the summit of Banducci. Took a peak at the GoPro Battery Charge. It was at 50%. And, that was 50 minutes into the ride. So, I calculated I had 50 minutes remaining on that battery. After letting traffic by, I headed downhill. I wanted to go east on Highline, but I wasn't sure how far to go. As I was making my way over the climb and into the descent, I noticed that the wind shifted 180 degrees. So, I was going into a headwind, on the way out. So, I decided to go all the way to WS. When I got there, I decided to swap out a GoPro battery. Headback from there, with a generous tailwind. As I anticipated, the return trip went quick. I kept the power down, going over the top. Made my way to OTR. From there, it was mostly fun and games. Concentration was good. Few lapses. Morale felt pretty good. And a few things to think about, kept me occupied. Balance and form was good. Ailments, some mild hand numbness. The sore knees have gone a way. Gear worked well. I threw the chain off once. Nutrition was spot on. I was about out of drinks when I got back. And the apetite was there too. If I had to spend another 30 minutes, I would have fed. Other notes, I saw 2 cyclists today. One of which, was going up the Alpine Forest, the same time I was.
