The weather has let up a bit. The smoke from the local wild fires has cleared up. The temperature was below 80 degrees when I got out. The legs felt good from the start. I made it to the top of the descent in good time. I cruised the downhill. I'm not sure what my time was at the base. I didn't consider checking. Although, I did check my GoPro, and the battery was at 78% charge remaining. I headed back after that. The air was considerably denser with O2, so I felt more lively. I had a few things to think about. And the music was keeping me company. The miles went quick. As did the landmarks. I was doing good tempo, most of the way. I relaxed every few moments. Sitting in the saddle to hydrate and let the legs recover. I did good time on the ascent. The left knee had a hint of soreness, but never escalated. And, went away a few moments later. When I neared the summit, I was guessing where I'd be when the song being played would end. I was pretty close in my approximations. Concentration was good. I was in the zone, few lapses and the morale was good. Balance and form felt good. Ailments, some left hand numbness and some mild left knee pains that went away and never escalated. Gear worked flawless. Although, I did drop the chain once. Nutrition was spot on. No hunger pains. I drank about 3/4 of my sport drink and some water. Other notes, I saw two cyclists today. I'm considering adjusting my cleats, so that the ball of my feet are further forward. I'm not in a hurry to do it, though. It's all about how the knees and calf's behave.
