The weather is great. A bit on the warm side, but nice cool air. Winds from the North West. The legs felt good from the start. I made it to the end of OTR in good average time. Banducci turned out to have more traffic than anticipated. I tried not to red-line it much, going over the wall. I made my way to the summit. Doing no less than moderate tempo. I took a few moments rest, checked the GoPro battery. It was at 68-ish%. So, I had about an hour left of charge. I calculated that it would be enough to make it to the last climb. I headed downhill, shortly after. Reaching speeds in excess of 40 MPH, doing my tuck. The trip to SS was a bit more windy than I anticipated. I was holding between 15 and 18 MPH, most of the time. After reaching the front entrance, I took a few moments to stretch. There were some cows grazing. I decided to pull over and take some photos. I made my way around the backside, then downhill. I made it to the tunnel at around the 1 hour mark. I zipped through town and headed back on Banducci. The wind wasn't as good as good as I would have liked it, but not so bad either. The trek through the farmlands was comfortable. Mostly listening to my music. I reached Boss Hogs in about 1:21-ish hours. I gave up only a minute since the SS tunnel. Not too bad. When I reached the last climb, I pulled over to check the GoPro battery. It had about 22% battery life remaining. That was enough to get me over the summit. So, I hopped back on the bike and began the ascent. The legs felt good, I wasn't red-lining it. But, holding no less than moderate tempo. No digs over the summit, but I was holding my tempo. After reaching the summit, I pulled over to swap out a GoPro battery. I pulled over one more time to take photos of the local cows, that were grazing. From there, it was non-stop tell home. Route 202 was safe, with minimal traffic. From there it was fun and games through OTR and the remainder. Concentration was good. No gremlins, few lapses. Balance and form felt good. Ailments... I had some mild knee soreness in the right leg, but it never escalated, and eventually went away. Gear worked well. Although, I dropped my chain once or twice. May need to adjust the limiting screw on the front derailleur. Nutrition was spot on. I consumed all of my Gatorade, and about half my water. Other notes, I saw a cyclist in SS, and some kids (in uniform) riding their mountain bikes.
