Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.

Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

They predicted a hot 90+ degree day, today. I got up early, had breakfast. Checked out a new game I bought. Then decided my plan for riding. I decided to go to SS. Instead of having breakfast #2, and nap, I skipped that, and headed out. I had enough food, in case I got hungry. The legs felt pretty good to start. The temperature was probably no more than 80-ish degrees. There's some mild cloud cover, and that dropped the temperature a couple degrees or so. I made it to the end of OTR in good average time. The legs felt more responsive than the previous hot day rides. I made my way up the Banducci wall. Near max, over the top. Then to the summit. Doing mostly good tempo. I took a few moments rest, let traffic by, checked the GoPro camera, then headed downhill. I think I peaked over 40 MPH on the descent, twice. The wind conditions were mild. I was able to hold 20 MPH on the way out to SS. I attribute that to the wind conditions being mild. I took a few moments to stretch after reaching the front entrance to SS. The quads were a bit sore. I made my way around the back end. I almost reached 40 MPH. I made it to the tunnel in about 59 minutes. I zipped through town and headed back. I was doing mostly 16 to 18 MPH on the way back, on Banducci. More of the same on the false flats of the farmlands. After reaching the start of the last climb, I pulled over to check my GoPro. It had about 18% charge remaining. I then headed up the mountain. Doing mostly moderate tempo. I kept the power down, going over the top. I pulled over to swap out the GoPro battery, then got back on the road. I practiced a bit of no handed riding. After reaching Route 202, I let traffic by and then went at my own pace, till I reached OTR. From there, it was mostly fun and games. Concentration was good. I had a few things to think about. The morale was good. It wasn't as hot as I anticipated. Balance and form felt pretty good. Ailments, some quad soreness. Some hand soreness. Maybe a hint of knee soreness. None of which escalated or un-mitigate-able. Gear worked great. Nutrition was good. I didn't experience any hunger pains (Even though I skipped second breakfast). I brought an extra bottle of Gatorade, but ended up not needing it. Other notes, I saw about 5 cyclists today.
