Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

The fires are expelling smoke all over the place, in CA. Including Tehachapi. I decided to ride indoors. I chose the France map. I don't remember what the route was called, but I rode for 15.8 miles. I figured it would take about 45 minutes to complete one lap. My estimate was off by only a minute or two. Some additional minutes for the cool-down phase. I had to fiddle around with the receiver dongles, ANT and Logitech Unifyer. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the HR sensor to pair. So, no HR metrics today. I felt good from the start. It took about 7 or 8 minutes to get warmed up. The garage is warmer than the colder days. But, I set the fan to full power. That helped. I was sweating sooner than normal. For the most part, I kept the tempo steady. In and out of the saddle. I was trying to tell myself to refrain from red-lining it, as I'm still recovering from ill effects from the bad air quality. There's a brief climb that had a timed section. I think I got 7th place. I ended up earning the pokadot jersey a few miles from the finish. (The previous winner, logged off and I was the next in line). After finishing the lap, I commenced the cool-down for about 2 or 3 minutes. Concentration was good. I had some music to listen to. It kept me company. Zwift is always an engaging experience. Balance and form was good. Ailments, next to none. Gear worked great. Although, the spare wheel was not calibrated. So, some skip-shifting occured. Nutrition was spot on. I filled my bottle to half way on Gatorade and a full bottle of water. Neither of which I had to consume in its entirety.
