Today was a great day to get out and ride! Temperature in the low 50's. Winds from the South West. Perfect conditions for Willow Springs n Back. I wore 1 base layer, arms, knees, cap (that I put on later in the ride). I felt good from the start. I made it to the end of OTR in good time and was sufficiently warmed up by then. Being that I was going to ride into a headwind on the way out, I kept the pace moderate. Some good tempo here and there. Once I reached the turn around point, I started with moderate tempo and increased to good. When I reached the last kickers, I noticed there was a cyclist ahead of me. It was difficult to gauge how fast he was going. I think he was less than 1/4 miles ahead of me. It became apparent I wasn't going to bridge, but it was a carrot nonetheless. After reaching the summit, I had fun on the downhill (with the tailwind). From there, I made one last dig to the end of Highline. Fun and games after that. My concentration was spot on. I had some things to think about, so that kept my mind in the zone. Ailments were next to none. Balance and form was spot on. I really felt my legs hooking up square on the pedals. Gear is working great. No squeaks from the pedals. Other notes... There were some gliders out near the end of Highline. As mentioned, one other cyclist today.
