Wow. A fantastic day for riding. In the low 50's winds from the South (at first). I wore arms, knees and 1 base layer. It was just cool enough to keep my kit on for the duration of the ride. I felt good going out the door. It didn't take me much time to get warmed up. I had a tailwind going to the top of the descent. About 1/4 way down, the wind changed direction. I soft pedaled most of the way down. After reaching the base of the climb, it was apparent that the wind was going to be on my back. This was the case for the remainder of the ride. Overall, I felt good. My body felt lively and I was able to push through the difficult sections without red-lining to much. I made a push over the loop monument. From there, I held good tempo to the summit. I made one last push over the top. After that, I stretched on the bike and headed back home. Concentration was good. It got a bit dicey on a few occasions. In those moments, I had to coach myself back into focus. Other than that, minimal gremlins. Ailments consisted of mild lower back soreness. Stretching on the bike mitigated that issue. Balance and form felt good today. Going out the door, I could tell it was going to be a good day for balance and form. Gear is working well. The bike exhibits some squeaking. I re-seated the wheels, but that didn't seem to help. I think I have to tighten some bolts, in particular the stem. Other notes, I saw about 3 people on the monument as I was descending. And about double that as I was ascending. No other cyclists, to my surprise.
