I had to put in an improvised ride today. I woke up with a sore eye, that made it difficult to look around. I treated it with cold water and ice. It's still sore as I write this entry. I was in bed for my morning nap, hoping that the pain would subside. At the last moment, it did. I was originally planned to do the Willow Spring n Back ride, but decided to do an improv. I went to Banducci summit and then WTR summit. I think I gauged it right. The weather was cool, in the low 60's, winds from the north west. It felt like a cool day at the beach. It was great for the climb up Banducci. I felt good from the start. Although, I felt some cramping in the right calf as I was making my way up mariposa. It lingered for a few miles. I wasn't sure if it was going to subside. It did, on my way up Banducci. I wasn't paying attention to my time to the summit. I felt good, nevertheless. The descent was a welcome reprieve. After reaching Mariposa on the return, I put in a dig and decided, shortly after to extend the ride to WTR summit. I put it into good tempo mode till the summit. From there, I took it easy for the remainder of the ride. Concentration was good today, all things considered. I was able to maintain my focus for the better duration of the ride. Balance and form felt good. That false flat on Banducci return felt a bit better than previous. Ailments consisted of right calf soreness. Almost a cramp. I think it was a remanence of the previous ride. Something to note for the next outing. I had a sore eye that made it difficult to focus my eyes. It subsided enough for the ride. Ice and washing it with cold water helped. Gear is working well. Other notes, the fire department did a scheduled drill on a nearby unoccupied facility just down the street on WTR. I took some photos.
