Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

Today was a typical spring day in Tehachapi. Cool (60's), winds from the north west. I wore the standard kit. 1 base layer. I felt average going out the door. The wind was fairly strong today, so I had no intention in putting in a good time. I was slow to reach route 202, but I wasn't in a hurry. I noticed that my cadence sensor wasn't working when I reached OTR. I ended up stopping at the top of OTR and got it back up and running. The head-wind was strong going up Banducci. I was doing mostly good tempo from half way up. I pushed it over the top as there was traffic behind. The false flat was an area of recovery. I was doing around 15MPH, a few MPH slower than usual due to the hefty wind conditions. From there, I did mostly good tempo to the summit. Once I reached the summit, I took a breather and let the traffic pass before the descent. Like usual, the descent was fun and games. I did moderate tempo to SS. Modest in the short climb, pushing slightly over the top. My right calf was showing signs of soreness. I decided to stop and see what a difference it would make to lower the saddle. Unfortunately, the rear taillight was clamped, blocking the seatpost from rising. I forgot to pack my allen wrench. After that, I descended. My computer was not reading the moving time properly. So, I discarded the time to the tunnel. I was well over-due on time, so I pretty much discarded that metric for the remainder of the ride, other than keeping an estimate of what I had left. I was hoping for a better tail wind on the way back, but it wasn't to be the case. I did moderate tempo to Pelliser, Then good tempo to the last climb. I put it into good to high tempo on the last climb. A modest dig over the top. I recovered on the false flat, then cruised down Route 202. There was no traffic to negotiate, so it was a relaxing moment. OTR was fun and games. I pushed over Mariposa, into a good headwind. From there it was mostly cruising till I got home. My concentration was good today. No gremlins worth mentioning. I was in the zone for a good chunk of the ride. Balance and form was good, not great. Ailments consisted of the usual exhaustion, and some soreness in the lower right calf. I intend on lowering the saddle by as much as 1/4". Gear is working well. Other notes, no other cyclists today.
