Today's weather was another hot one. In the upper 80's. Winds from the North West. I wore the standard kit. I felt average going out the door. I made it to the end of OTR in average time and was sufficiently warmed up to tackle the ride ahead of me. I climbed Highline in good tempo. Pushing somewhat over the top. The trip to WS was mostly moderate tempo. Saving my cookies for the later half of the ride. I don't know how fast I made it to WS, but it was likely a good average. The return trip started moderate for the first mile or so, then bumped it up a notch. I burned a match or two making my way back. I started Banducci moderate, kicked to Good, then High (to let traffic by). The false flat was a recovery zone and commenced with moderate tempo to the summit. There was a headwind on Banducci, so no point in over exerting. The remainder of the ride was mostly fun and games. As I made my way to OTR, there were two young guys (likely juniors). We hooked up for the descent. They pushed hard on the last 2/3rds of the descent. I struggled to keep up with them nearing Mariposa. They let up and I kept my momentum going. From there it was mostly modest tempo, keeping my momentum going. Concentration was good today. I was in the zone and few gremlins out there. Ailments were next to none. Some minor lower back soreness, mitigated by stretching on the bike. Balance and form felt good. Probably better than the last time I did this ride. Gear is working well. No issues there. Other notes, I saw at least 4 cyclists today, including the quick PUG down OTR.
