Today was a little warm, but comfortable. In the mid/low 80's. Winds from the north west. I wore the standard kit. I felt good going out the door. I made it to the end of OTR in good time. I was sufficiently warmed up for the Banducci climb. I was able to ascend the wall in good tempo. Recovered on the false flat and commenced the remainder of the climb no less than moderate. My legs continued to feel good at this point. I stopped for less than a minute to rest once at the summit. Then the descent. Fun and games and was able to practice my tuck, twice. The trip through the farmlands was mostly moderate tempo with an increase here and there. The climb up CVR was about the same. A modest dig over the summit. By this time, I had burned some matches and I could feel the fatigue setting in. I started to feel empty in the stomach, so I decided that once I reached the summit of WTR that I would take a few minutes break and have a Power Bar. Then I made my way down to Keene. Mostly soft pedaling. Getting out of the saddle when needed. I continued to feel somewhat fatigued, but nowhere near bonking. So, I decided to hold back, save my matches for the tough parts of the climb. Once I made it past the loop monument, I knew I would have enough in the tank to make it to the summit without hitting the wall or cramping. I was able to hold moderate with some good tempo for the remainder of the climb. Once at the summit, I soft pedaled for a minute, and then made my way back home. Concentration was very good today, few lapses and minimal gremlins. Ailments consisted of continued neck soreness, right hand numbness and general soreness in the legs due to fatigue. Maybe a hint of lower back soreness. None of which escalated. Balance and form felt good. A bid shady here and there, but overall right on the money. Gear is working well. No issues there. Other notes, I saw 2 other cyclists. One of which crossing paths twice while on the Keene climb.
