Today's weather was great! Right in the comfort zone. In the upper 70's. Winds from the north west. I wore the standard kit. Today was my first solo ride since company was here. I was able to go my own pace for the entire ride. My concentration wasn't that great today. It felt like it was jumping around. Fortunately, I was able to guide it into the right alley. I took it easy. I was debating what ride to do, the Tour de Teh, complete or abridged. I decided the former. My body felt good. No real soreness, but some neck pains that have ailing me the past few days. It's still difficult for me to turn my head to the left. I was sufficiently warmed up by the time I reached route 202 and was looking forward to completing Banducci. I was able to climb the wall in good tempo for most of the ascent. Recovered on the false flat and then did moderate to good tempo over the summit. Once at the summit, I texted Peggy (responding to her text). That put a 2 or 3 minute break while there. I let a car or two go by and then commenced the descent. I felt like I was going as fast as the previous ride out there, but I think I peaked at about 40MPH. Nevertheless, fun practicing my tuck. The trip to SS was mostly moderate tempo all the way to the summit, with a modest push over top. I did good tempo through SS. The return on Banducci was mostly moderate tempo, mitigating traffic. The trek through the farmlands was more of the same. Going up the last climb was mostly good tempo. With a modest push over the summit. I used the last false flat to recover and then made my way down Route 202 and OTR. As I was about to make a left turn onto Moriposa another cyclist asked for help with directions. We talked for a few minutes. After-which, I made my usual push over Mariposa and my way home. Concentration today was the lesser of things. Perhaps an adjustment to riding solo from the previous 8 to 10 days hasn't set in yet. Balance and form was good, likely the greater of things. Ailments was up there, the greater of things next to balance and form. My gear is working well. No issues. Other notes, I was thinking about using my power bank that I used for the last GranFondo and mounting it onto the fork, instead of the top tube. I saw 2 cyclists today, one of which I helped with directions.
