Today was a perfect day for a Keene ride. It's in the 70's with winds from the North West. I had lab in the morning. Got back just past 9AM. Had breakfast, took a nap, dragged myself out of bed and went out for a ride. I dinged my right outer knee yesterday and it was a bit sore while walking. I didn't feel a thing while on the bike. I made good time going to the summit of the descent. The descent was mostly relaxing with two digs over the risers. I made it to the base in about 29 minutes. I spared no time and headed back up the mountain. The legs felt good. The bike felt good. The landmarks went fast. I had a few things to think about. There was one cyclist on his way down as I was just starting the climb. He never caught up to me, although no telling if he was already finished. I was doing no less than moderate tempo. Out of the saddle a lot and in the saddle to relax the hands and legs. A few minutes from the top, I increased the tempo a bit and kept the momentum going over the top. I made my way back up Weston where I shut it down. Concentration was good. The morale felt good. Gear worked perfect. The bike feels great! I installed a new plastic protector on the seat tube. You can hardly notice it, no bubbles to be found. Ailments, the hands were getting numb after out of the saddle efforts. Balance and form was good. Nutrition was good. No hunger signs. I went through most of my Gatorade and some water. Other notes, there was one cyclist on his way down as I just started the climb. I was a bit surprised. It's Friday, so people want to get out is my guess. Nevertheless, always a good thing.
