It’s my birthday and the weather has let up. It was a great day for a ride. It's in the 50's, winds from the North West. Perfect for going to CV. I decided to to the short route, building up to the greater. I managed to get up in time, got my gear ready and headed out. I wore a long sleeve jersey, arms, knees, head cap and some newspaper in the jersey for good measure. I was sufficiently comfortable. I made it to the top of OTR in good time. The Banducci Wall had minimal traffic mitigation. A bit more traffic to the summit, though. When I made it to the summit, I pulled over to recover. I made it there in about 40 minutes. The wind was still favorable, so it was a go for a CV ride. I forgot to take a selfie at the summit. I guess I was too concentrated on the ride at hand. Nevertheless, I descended down the mountain and made my way through the farmlands. The descent was fun, but the farmlands was the usual march. Some gremlins out there too. I didn't bother checking the time at Boss Hogs. The last climb went well. I kept a steady tempo. No redlining it. I kept my momentum going over the top. After cresting the summit, I took a few moments to recover on the false flats and then headed back to OTR. There was some traffic mitigation on Route 202, so I let traffic by while on the shoulder going slow. OTR was mostly fun and games. I was able to relax and let the wheels roll. I pushed over Mariposa and made my way back home. I shut it down at the top of Weston. Concentration was good for the most part. The morale was positive. There were gremlins here and there. But nothing I haven't experienced before. Balance and form was good. Ailments was probably the better of things. Minimal soreness. The legs felt good. The knees felt good. Gear worked flawless. I had to stop once to swap out the GoPro battery. The power meter didn't work today. I think the battery needs to be replaced. Other notes, no cyclists today that I can remember.
