The weather is on the cooler side. I got out as soon as I could after taking a quick morning nap. The legs felt pretty good to start. Perhaps a bit of soreness in the right thigh. I made it to the summit of OTR in good time. The Banducci Wall pushed me a bit. There was some traffic mitigation. My climbing legs were getting warmed up. The remainder of the ride went as usual. I let traffic by, by riding on the shoulder when available. After reaching the summit, I took a few moments to recover. I let traffic by, checked the GoPro and headed down the mountain. I stopped at a turn-out while descending because I wanted to check the tail light. It was secure and blinking. So, I got on with business. The downhill was mostly safe. I think I reached 40 MPH. From there, it was the trek through the farmlands. It went quick. The wind was mild. I was able to maintain about 20 MPH most of the way. After passing the front entrance, I took a few moments to stretch. As I was riding out of the saddle, I noticed that there was a slight imbalance. I couldn't tell what it was, so I stopped to inspect the bike. Turns out that the saddle bag had gotten loose and the bottle that was stored in it was jiggling around. So, I re-secured it. From there, I had no problems. I made my way around the backside and then to the downhill. I put in a good sprint. I reached 38 MPH and then 42 MPH while in the tuck. Such a treat! I decided to stop at the local park to bio. They didn't have running water, so I had to clean my hands by rinsing them with one of the bottles of water I was carrying on my bike. Shortly after, I got back on the road. I passed the tunnel in about 1:03 hours. I was doing good time. I stopped at the local mini mart to mix a powder drink. I got back on the road and to the farmlands. The return on the farmlands was mostly moderate tempo. There was a slight tailwind. I passed Boss Hogs in about 1:27-ish hours (I think). When I arrived at the base of the last climb, I pulled over to swap out the GoPro battery. The battery door on the GoPro fell off while replacing the battery. So, I grabbed it and re-attached it. From there, I got back on the road and finished the last climb. I was doing no less then moderate tempo and kept my momentum going over the top. I recovered while making my way to Route 202. Route 202 had minimal traffic mitigation, so I was able to (mostly) relax while making my way to OTR. The descent off OTR was mostly fun and games. I pushed over Mariposa and shut it down at the top of Weston.
Concentration was mostly good. Minimal lapses or gremlins. Balance and form felt good. Ailments, some hand numbness. The right thigh was a bit sore to start, but got better and never escalated. Nutrition was good. I went through most of my sport drinks and some water. Gear worked flawlessly. Other notes, I saw some walkers / hikers and one cyclist.
