I was planning on going for a ride yesterday, the double, Keene + Willow Springs. But I decided against it as I was more fatigued than usual. So I took the day off yesterday. Today, I got out a bit late because I wanted to get some work done in the morning/afternoon hours. The weather was fantastic. The winds were from the north-east. Out the door, my legs felt quite fresh. I was able to get a good warmup by the end of OTR. Being that I had a headwind on the way out, I did moderate tempo, with no accelerations. I got out of the saddle when necessary, especially in the first mile, given the short climb. I came nowhere near red-lining it on the way out. I felt very comfortable. I picked up the tempo on the way back. I did no less than moderate tempo. Again, my legs felt good. My back was a bit sore on the turn-around point, but I was able to stretch it out. I was on the hoods for most of the return trip. My hips felt comfortable. Concentration was good, not perfect, but pretty solid. Balance was especially good today. My legs were hooking up nicely. Gear is working well. I tightened the screws and bolts on the stem, chain rings and saddle. The bike continues to creak. I also reseated the rear wheel, but that didn't seem to make a difference. Perhaps I'll try re-seating the front wheel, as that is the only thing I didn't do.
A foot-note... Although my average speed on the out-bound and in-bound was low, the overall Average was higher than normal.
