I'm loving the spring weather :). I slept in a bit later than anticipated. My legs felt good out the door. It didn't take me that much time to get warmed up. By the time I reached OTR, my engine was warm. I think I was pushing the pace in a bit more urgency than the previous ride. Everything seemed to come together today. The winds were from the north west. I made it in good time to the Banducci summit. I was pushing hard over the wall and not so much over the summit. I was doing moderate to good tempo on the way out to SS, and a bit of a push over the top. I made it to the tunnel well under an hour. I felt good at that point, so I continued with good tempo as I reached the exit of SS. I started the return on Banducci with moderate tempo. When I made a left turn onto Pelisser, I upped the tempo and kept it that way all the way to the last climb. I reached Boss Hogs well under 1:20 hours. I didn't have any serious ailments. My back was a bit sore on a couple spots, so I stretched a bit to keep it in check. Otherwise, it was just the usual battle against fatigue. My concentration was spot on. I had balance in lock-down. Always keeping an eye on my legs. The gear is working flawless. Other notes, the construction in the farmlands continues. Not sure what to make of it. They have a large silo. Could be for grains, or perhaps irrigation water. Will see how it transpires over the next few weeks.
Other notes.... I would like to do a double this weekend. Say, Keene + Willow Springs. Definitely doable, but I have to take into account my strength training. Perhaps by doing a half-workout day.
