Well, today was a spring showers kind of day. I had lab in the morning, and when I got out of the clinic, it was sprinkling a bit. I did my usual routine and got up from my nap around 1pm or so. By that time, the sprinkling had stopped and it appeared as though the clouds were going to disperse. I dressed accordingly. Arms, Knees, 2 base-layers. The winds were from the North-West. My legs were a bit heavy, out the door. I usually feel completely warmed up by the time I reach the end of OTR. Not to be the case today. I think it took till I reached the summit of Banducci to feel my legs getting better. Either way, my legs felt average. Perhaps it was a little deceiving, because of the severe head-wind I had from the bottom of Banducci, to the summit of SS. I probably burned more matches than usual, so that explains why I felt no better on the return trip. I kept the tempo nice and steady the whole way. The only place I lifted the tempo to high was on CVR and on Route 202 from negotiating traffic to the left turn onto OTR. I made it to Boss Hogs in around 1:02ish. I was on par for an average day. My balance was so so at best. Concentration was excellent. I was gauging the weather, body, terrain perfectly. I was about to take off my knee warmers, at the end of OTR, because I was getting a bit over-heated. Turns out that as soon as the sun ducked underneath the clouds, the temperature dropped by about 10 degrees. Needless to say, I kept my knee warmers on. Bike gear is working well, no complaints there. I received the extra Di2 cable for emergencies. It's packed in my patch-kit.
