It's been snowing. No go for out door riding today. I was thinking of riding the London map, but Innsbruck turned out to be the map of the day. So, I decided to do the "World's Road Short Loop". It took a while to get the gear set up. The trainer just didn't want to stay paired to the PC. I think I found out the problem. If the Ant+ receiver is too close to a device like my tablet, the signal doesn't go through. Nevertheless, I got it to work. I think it added a minute or two to my overall time. So, I hopped on the trainer and got going. I remembered the course from the previous time. It's a steady 25 minute climb, with few reprieves. I was able to hold 3.5 Watts/kg most of the time. In some places above 4 Watts/kg. I was out of the saddle most of the time. I sat down when I needed to relax my hands and just take a few seconds, breather. There were a lot of people on this route. Many of which I passed and some that were my equal if not better. I didn't want to push it too far, but I kept the power down on the last minute of the climb. I think I got 12th. From there, I headed back down. I was trying to calculate my time. When I got near the finish, I was about 50 minutes into the lap. I calculated that I would have no more than 5 minutes of climbing after the first lap. My calculations were spot on. After the first lap, it took a few minutes to reach the base of the climb (for the second time). I kept the tempo high, as the one hour mark was almost there. I spent 3 to 4 minutes on the climb. At the hour mark, I turned around and rode it out till I made my way back into town. From there, it was cooldown till the HR reached 112BPM. Concentration was good. Definitely captivated by Zwift. Balance and form felt good. I think the trainer was a bit tilted to the left. More tinkering required. Ailments, next to none. Some lower quad soreness on the flats. Gear worked perfect after getting the trainer to properly pair with the PC. Other notes, there were over 1800 riders today, on this map. Other notes, I got the new power supply for the trainer, worked like a charm. I used Mixer to stream the footage for my folks.
