The weather is great! I got up a bit later than normal from my morning nap. Nevertheless, I got up, suited up and got out for my ride. I wore double arms, knees, two base layers, head cap, face mask and a sheet of newspaper in the jersey. The legs felt good to start. I made it to the summit in good time. I stopped to take off my head cap and face mask. The climb to the top of Highline went as normal. I had a tailwind on the way up. I zipped around the Buffalo neighborhood. I was near maximum at the top. Then I headed back on Highline and to OTR for the descent. The descent was enjoyable. I pushed over Mariposa and to the top of Weston where I shut it down. It was a quick sub-hour ride.
Concentration was good. I was in the zone most of the time. The morale felt good. Patience was in check. No gremlins worth mentioning. Balance and form felt good. Ailments were minimal. The usual hand soreness. Nutrition was good. I had a bowl of oatmeal, banana and some grapes for breakfast. I drank about 2/3rds of my sport drink, no water. Gear worked flawlessly. Other notes, there were some friendly walkers, no cyclists.
