Another great day for a ride. Nice and cool. I wore 1 base layer and arms. I was going to take them off at the end of OTR, but decided to keep them on. My legs felt good from the start. I did good time. I made it to the end of OTR in about 20 minutes. I climbed the Banducci wall in moderate tempo. Recovered on the plateau. The remainder of the climb was steady tempo, nothing less than moderate. The wind was from the north, so I had a headwind on the way out to SS. I kept the tempo steady as I made my way through the farmlands. My time was still good and I started to lift the pace as I neared SS. I made it to the tunnel in about 1 hour. I think I was about 1:04 out of SS. I rode Banducci east conservatively. As soon as I made the left hander onto Pelisser, I went from moderate to high tempo. I kept this tempo all the way to the summit of CVR. The wind was mostly from the north, very little cross-wind. So, I was able to hold 22+ mph when the road was in the northerly direction. The east-bound had some cross-winds, so I was able to keep the pace at around 20mph. I made Boss Hogs in under 1:20hrs. As mentioned before, the CVR climb was done in high tempo and a nice dig over the top. After that, I was doing about 17-20mph all the way to Route 202. From that point it was all about negotiating traffic and keeping the tempo up for the downhill sections. Concentration was good today, very few lapses and I was in the zone for the most part. Ailments consisted of some right hand numbness and minor lower back soreness. I was able to stretch the soreness and hands to get back to comfort. Balance was good, I was having to make some adjustments here and there, but for the most part it was one of the better days. Other notes, I checked the charity app 2 times and it functioned well. I was using the LiveTrack feature on the cell. The phone started at 100% charge and had 77% upon completion of the ride.
