Weather is great today. Winds are favorable for a Tour de Teh (SS,R) ride. I got out as soon as I could. I sold something on eBay and had to drop it off at the postal station. That was incentive. The concentration was in between urgency and desire to get out. The body felt pretty good to start. I was pushing a bit for the first 4 to 5 miles. I reached the end of OTR in good time. There was minimal traffic mitigation going up the Banducci Wall, so I was able to settle into a steady tempo. More of the same going to the summit. When I arrived there, I took a few moments rest, let traffic by and headed downhill. It was a treat. I reached upwards of 40 MPH on the downhill. The wind was in my favor. I was going into a mild headwind on the way to SS. I think I was doing between 15 to 18 MPH. I made may way around the backend of SS. The downhill into town was fun. Doing my tuck after getting up to speed. I passed the tunnel in about 1:01 hrs. I zipped through town and made my way back to Banducci. I was doing moderate tempo to the last climb. I reached Boss Hogs in about 1:23 hrs. So, I only gave up a couple minutes. The body was hinting on nature break signs. But, it was more of a hint than anything. Suffice it to say, I decided to keep going. The last climb went as planned. No red-lining. I was in the comfort zone. When I reached the summit, I pulled over to swap GoPro batteries. From there it was non-stop till home. Route 202 had minimal traffic mitigation. I made a last minute decision to ride in the car lane to make the left turn onto OTR. It turned out to be a safe decision. From there, it was fun and games. Concentration was good. A bit on the urgent side. I was thinking about stuff that had to get done today, on time. Otherwise, minimal lapses. Gear worked perfect, no issues. Balance and form was good. Ailments, I had some mild right knee pain that didn't escalate but was notable. Nutrition was good. No hunger signs. I had enough energy to get my errand done when I made it back home. I a partial apple and banana. That held me over till just now. Other notes, I saw 2 cyclists today.
