Great weather! In the 60's. Mild winds from the South East. A good day to head out to the farmlands. The legs felt good from the start. Didn't take much time to get warmed up. When I arrived at the summit of OTR, I made it there in good time. I decided to remove my knee warmers. The climb up the Banducci Wall felt good. I was able to stomp it out. Reaching near max over the top. More of the same to the summit. When I made it to the summit, I pulled over for a minute to recover. I made it there in good time. I let traffic by and headed down the mountain. There was a mild tailwind. I reached 42 MPH in my tuck. The trip through the farmlands was mostly into a mild head / cross wind. I was able to hold 15 MPH+ most of the way. The last climb went fast. I was doing no less than moderate tempo. When I reached the summit, I pulled over to take photos of the local cows grazing in the field. From there, it was none-stop. Route 202 was the usual traffic mitigation. Some driver decided to make a left turn into the wrong lane. No clue why. He was lucky that a truck spotted him before colliding. From there it was mostly fun and games. Concentration was good. The morale felt pretty good. I had stuff to think about. Minimal gremlins today. Balance and form was good. Ailments, some mild hand soreness. The knees behaved today. Nutrition was good. No hunger signs. I had most of my Gatorade, no water. I could have made it to SS and back without stopping for more provisions. Gear worked flawless. Other notes, I saw one or two cyclists today.
