It's raining. A good day for Zwift. I decided on the London Hilly Loop. Intentions were to do 2 laps and post negative splits. It took a few moments to get the gear set up. Once it was in place, it worked flawless. I was sufficiently warmed up when I reached the base of the climb for the first time. I tried to keep the wattage around 3 W/kg. Mostly out of the saddle. In the saddle to wipe sweat and give the hands a moments rest. I felt good going up the climb. The knees felt good. After making it to the summit, I think I got about 70'th place out of about 500-ish. I headed back down after that. I put in a dig over the tunnel riser. The legs were buckling a bit. I made it to the end of the first lap and kept going. The body felt warm. The second and last climb went as planned. I was pushing over 3 W/kg most of the way up. In the last 3 or 4 minutes, the HR was near Max, but the legs weren't on fire. I was able to hold it to the summit. I posted a negative split as was planned. Placing around 31st out of about 500 riders. I recovered on the downhill by stretching. I tried to put in a dig up the tunnel riser. I guess I just didn't have it today. I couldn't get much above 500 watts. I made it to the finish in good time. Putting in a negative split on the lap. I think I posted a 30 day PR for the climb and lap. Concentration was good. Balance and form was good. Ailments were minimal. Knees felt good, no cramping signs. Nutrition was good. No hunger signs. I drank about half my Gatorade, no water. Gear worked flawless after fiddling with it at the start of the ride. The trick was to pair the trainer using Bluetooth and then the HR transmitter with the Ant+ dongle. Other notes, there were over 3000 riders at the start of the ride.
