Today's weather was nice and comfortable. In the upper 70's, lower 80's. Winds from the north west. I wore the standard kit. Today was the last day with company (Peggy). We decided to go to Keene n Back. She turned around at the loop monument, while I did the entire ride. Suffice it to say, here's how it went. I cruised it to the top of the descent in moderate tempo. Regrouped at the top. Proceeded with the downhill till the first riser and again at the second riser. From there Peggy turned around and I went on as planned. I cruised it to the base, soft pedaling most of the way. Just trying to keep my mind body ready for what was to come next. My legs felt good today. I started with moderate tempo for the first mile or two and then upped it to slightly higher tempo for the remainder of the ride. I saved my matches for where it counted. Once over the loop monument, I knew I could put in a higher tempo for the remainder of the ride. And that's what I did. Concentration was good for the most part. I was having to coach myself here and there, but no serious lapses or gremlins worth mentioning. Ailments consisted of a sore neck. (Probably from sleeping wrong the other night). It's difficult for me to turn my head to the left. I resorted to looking under my arm. Some numbness/soreness in my right hand (almost not worth mentioning). Gear is working well. Other notes, I saw 3 cyclists today. Apparently, the morning time attracts more riders this time of the year. Today was the last day with company.
