Today was a good day to get out, but it was a bit colder than I would have liked. I think it was below 50 degrees. I wore arms, knees and 2 base layers. I gauged it right. I wasn't burning up going into the tailwind, nor was I freezing going into the head wind. Going out the door, my legs felt average. I wasn't sure how the ride was going to pan out. I think I just wanted to get it under my belt. I was a bit sluggish going through OTR, not knowing how the out-bound leg on Highline was going to be. Turns out that I felt pretty good. Nice balance, but not perfect. My concentration was good, focused on the task at hand. I had no significant ailments. Perhaps a bit sore in the hips, but nothing to be concerned about. The road was littered with sand from the past few days rain. It was a bit dodgy navigating around the debris in the bike lane and being forced to ride in the car lane when needed. No close calls, I played it safe. I think I did a slightly higher than average ride on the out-bound. Coming back, I was reduced to crawling. The wind was more of a cross head, so staying balanced took most of my concentration. The gear is working great, absolutely no problems there. Other notes, I saw 2 guys on their way out of OTR as I was going back.
Another note, I weighed in at around 146lbs today. I'm guessing that I gained weight from my strength training. I'll have to keep an eye on it, hopefully I'll loose fat at the same time and keep my weight in check.
