The weather was nice and cool today. I was going out the door with my arm and knee warmers. I figured that I'd take the knee warmers off at the end of OTR. Turns out that after I took a few steps out the door with the bike, the weather was warmer than I anticipated. Suffice it to say, I removed my knee warmers before the ride. My legs felt good today. I think better than the previous ride. The winds were from the North-West and was strong. I was able to hold moderate tempo while warming up to the end of OTR. I decided to give it a good push on Highline to Willow Springs. I felt pretty strong. Towards the last few miles I could feel fatigue setting in my lower legs. Cardio-wise, I was in the zone. I had to back off a few times to let my legs recover. There was some road construction going on and I had to slow down a bit. This sapped a bit of my momentum, but I was back up to speed shortly there-after. My concentration was right on the money. Just tightly focused on the task at hand. I did high tempo for most of the outbound and moderate and steady tempo on the way back (into the wind). My balance was good, not perfect. Other ailments, besides fatigue was negligible. Gear is working great. Other notes, I was tempted to go up Banducci and return from the summit, but I felt a bit empty in the tank. I think I'll do it the next time I do this route.
