I skipped yesterday's ride because of some saddle soreness. I am currently treating it and was able to get good ride in today. It was a bit chilly. Around 50 degrees, light winds from the north and overcast. I played this ride by ear. I knew I wanted to go as far as the summit of Highline. When I approached Highline, I felt healthy enough to continue to Willow Springs. My legs felt good from the start. I made it to the end of OTR in a good average time of 20 minutes. I did moderate tempo on the way out. I was conscious about my right knee and lower back. And of course the saddle soreness. I felt the saddle soreness through most of the ride, but it was bearable and I didn't have to adjust my tempo much. The return trip on Highline was more of the same tempo. Moderate. I was constantly getting out of the saddle to mitigate the saddle pains and to keep my other ailments in check. Now that I think about it, my left hip has been hurting just slightly. It's enough to notice. Once I reached the top of Highline on the return, I did modest tempo and had some fun on the downhill. I added about 1 or 2 miles by going to Roger's Torah center. I dropped off a DVD that I made for him. I spent about 1 minute and commenced my way home. All-in-all, I felt real good on this ride. My concentration was in the zone for the most part. It helped that I was pondering some things that needed to get done and I was having to do some meditative thoughts. Balance was good for the most part. Gear is working well, but the GPS had one glitch today. For some reason the display settings that I made a while back seems to have reset itself. I had to stop at the end of OTR on my way out to re-enter the settings. It was missing some metrics, notably my HR. They have to be adjusted before my next ride. Other notes, I took some photos of the nearby bulls. They appeared domesticated and was undisturbed when I approached them. I also gave the local donkey some carrots, he was pleased to say the least.
