Today was an interesting day. I went to bed last night thinking I would do more than a single. Likely Tour de Teh (SS,R) and something else. I decided to do an improv. ride. So, I ended up going to the top of Highline, Up the small kicker near the Ostritch farm and then to the top of WTR. The weather was warmer than the previous ride, in the mid 80's. Winds from the north west. My legs felt lively from the start. I made to the end of OTR in good time, around 20ish minutes. After making my way across the intersection, I made the left hander ans rode to the top of Highline. I used this as a good warmup. From there, I turned around and made my way to the Banducci wall. I climbed the wall in moderate tempo for the first minute, then kicked to good tempo over the top. My legs continued to feel good at this point, and I was able to push near maximum. The descent was fun and games, reaching over 41 MPH. It appears that the right shoulder at the base of Banducci. The road surface is nice and smooth. The trip to SS was mostly moderate tempo. With a push over the top. I cruised the downhill, doing my tuck. I wasn't paying attention to the time as I this was an improv. ride. I did the usual push through SS. Out of the saddle a lot. The return on Banducci was mostly moderate tempo. More of the same on Pelliser. When I reached Giraudo, I took a left turn and made my way to the top of the small riser. I refilled my bottles, and commenced the ride. I Turned around and made my way to the last significant climb. The last climb was mostly good tempo. I made a modest push over the top. The false flat was a recovery zone. My body continued to feel good. No cramping and such. Route 202 was the usual traffic mitigation with a push to the left turn onto OTR. It was fun and games till I reached Mariposa and did a push over the hill. When I reached WTR, I settled into a tempo quickly. The first climb being the most difficult was done out of the saddle most of the way. After that, I held a steady tempo, no heroics. I took a 30 second breather, turned around and headed home. Concentration was bad going out the door. I was coaching a lot through the ride. Some mild gremlins, could have been worse... Ailments were next to none, other than the usual exhaustion. Balance and form felt good, probably the greater of things. Gear is working well. No issues. Other notes, I saw a red tail hawk as I was making my way up the Ostrich riser. I saw 1 other cyclist as I was making my way back from the WTR summit.
