They predicted hot weather today, in the 90's. So, I got out about 1 hour earlier than normal. The legs felt pretty good from the start. Making it to the summit of the descent in good average time. I cruised the downhill. Soft pedaling to the base. I arrived at the base in about 27-ish minutes. I spared no time, and headed back up the mountain. As I was climbing, there were two cyclists on their way down. One of which was on an E-bike. I figured he would catch up to me. Either that, or he would hang around his training partner. Before that, there was a cyclist on his way up, as I was descending. I calculated that he was around 15 minutes ahead of me. That put him out of a "bridgeable" effort. I kept the tempo steady. Constantly reminding myself of not red-lining it. That and the heat, was too much to lay down high tempo. The landmarks were ticked over. I wasn't paying too much attention on time. Mostly listening to music and staying focused. When I was about 4 minutes from the summit, the GoPro stopped. I pulled over to see what happened. The display showed an SD Card error message. I removed the battery, restarted the camera, and it worked like a charm from then. As I was about to reach the summit, I almost caught the cyclist that was about 15 minutes ahead of me. Concentration was good. I was in the zone, most of the time. The morale felt good, and I had a few things to think about. Balance and form was good. I raised the saddle a bit. I think it's better. Ailments, next to none, other than heat exhaustion. Gear worked well, other than the GoPro. I did through my chain off the big ring. Nutrition was good. I had sufficient provisions and no hunger pains. Other notes, There were some trains on their way up, as I was near the loop and the base of Keene.
